preparing for interviews
Interviews can be stressful for everyone and although a number of companies try to try to take the stress out of this practice candidates often still dread the prospect of entering an interview room.
To help to eliminate this dread the most important thing to do is your homework. Focus your attention on the fact that you are a good fit for this client, organisation and potential opportunity and remember you are simply there to discuss this opportunity in greater detail.
You should also ensure that you have:
1. Read over the job profile thoroughly.
2. Researched the hiring organisation, what they do, products, services or any recent press stories for additional information.
3. Gone over your strengths and weaknesses and be comfortable to discuss these.
4. Read over your CV and be prepared to expand on:
- Your key achievements
- The responsibilities which you undertook
- Challenges which occurred and how you addressed these
- How you tend to interact with other team members
5. Tried to prepare at least 4/ 5 relevant questions which will help you identify if this opportunity matches what you are looking for.
6. Planned your route and allowed for sufficient time to arrive before the interview.
7. Made sure your shirt is ironed! First impressions do count.…
